Pitzer Great ShakeOut drill: Thursday, October 17, 2024, 10:55am

October 15, 2024

Dear Pitzer Community: this year we will again be joining millions of participants to practice how to "Drop, Cover, and Hold On" in the event of an earthquake.

Event Details:
Date: Thursday, October 17, 2024
Time: 10:55am
Duration: Approximately 1 minute + brief poll

The Great ShakeOut is an excellent opportunity for individuals and communities to come together and enhance their earthquake preparedness.

Here's what you can expect during The Great ShakeOut drill:
You will receive an Everbridge message via text and email announcing the start of the event.
Wherever you are, take a moment to "Drop, Cover, and Hold On”. Find a sturdy piece of furniture to take cover under, protect your head and neck, and hold on until the event is over.
Another Everbridge message will be sent to announce the event is over.
After the drill, take a moment to review earthquake safety and the evacuation procedures posted in classrooms and at this link www.shakeout.org.

Let's come together as a community to practice earthquake safety and ensure we are ready to protect ourselves when it matters most.  Thank you for your commitment to safety.
